Snaking uses a metal cable to mechanically break through clogs and scrape buildup from pipe walls. Hydro jetting uses high-pressure water to scour the interior of the pipe clean. For kitchen drains with heavy grease buildup, hydro jetting is often more effective at fully restoring the pipe diameter.
